Teamy aims for international growth in 2025
Groningen, December 28, 2024 – At the end of 2024, Teamy welcomed investor Chris Stam, marking an important step in the company’s professionalization. This partnership has made Teamy more scalable and laid a strong foundation for future international growth.
Chris Stam’s expertise has been key in developing the platform further and creating new commercial opportunities. “With Chris’s collaboration, we have refined our vision. Teamy’s free and accessible nature remains at the heart of what we do, ensuring that playing sports together via the app stays open to everyone. At the same time, we’ve improved our subscription model for more active users, giving us a stronger financial base. This allows us to confidently work toward our international goals,” says Wander Evers, co-founder and platform designer at Teamy.
Connecting over 200,000 team players
Teamy already connects over 200,000 team players in the Netherlands and Belgium. While Belgium currently represents a smaller share, interest from Belgian organizations is growing, accelerating the platform’s expansion in this market. To further boost this growth, Teamy will partner with a Flemish growth expert in 2025. Outside the Benelux, Teamy is also used by sports teams worldwide, though on a smaller scale.
International ambitions for 2025
In 2025, Teamy will focus on strengthening its position in the Netherlands and Belgium while preparing for broader international expansion. “We’re entering a new phase,” says Martijn Coevert, co-founder and developer of Teamy. “At the start of 2025, we’ll switch to React Native, making our software more efficient and flexible. This upgrade will not only improve user experience but also enhance our platform’s commercial potential. It will help us launch new features faster and support our organic growth, making sports more accessible for everyone.”
A marketing campaign will also launch in 2025 across various channels, giving Teamy greater international visibility and boosting organic growth. “The potential is huge, and we’re ready to seize these opportunities and position Teamy as the go-to app for sports teams worldwide,” says Martijn Coevert.
The ‘WhatsApp for team players’
Teamy offers a unique solution for sports teams with features like attendance tracking, schedule management, and team communication—all in one platform. Thanks to its user-friendly interface, Teamy is often called the “WhatsApp for team players.” This unique position makes the app a valuable tool for teams globally.
